National Library Week: April 6 through 12—is a time to celebrate and acknowledge the tremendous value libraries across the nation offer our communities and how they create safe places to learn, grow, and connect. The American Library Association has themed "Drawn to the Library" this year to encourage people to discover (or rediscover) what draws them.

We've planned some fun interaNational Library Weekctive ways for you to help us celebrate. Visit the Central Library to share your favorite books with us, and vote for a fun name for our book carts!

Join us for our popular fair showcasing local authors. Meet fiction and nonfiction authors writing for youth, teens, and adults, including some titles in Spanish and Gujarati. Many of the authors appearing this year are award-winning authors from these categories: Bram Stoker Award winner, NPR Best Book List, Ray Bradbury Creative Writing Prize, Illinois Indie Author Project “Soon to be Famous” Award, and more.

Our branches in Hanover Park and Hoffman Estates offer unique extensions of our Library services in convenient, welcoming neighborhood locations. Staff at our branches especially pride themselves on getting to know patrons very well and creating a strong sense of community.
