Introducing the New Schaumburg Library App!

Your library experience just got even better! Our brand-new Schaumburg Library app makes it easier than ever to access your favorite library services—anytime, anywhere. With a mobile-friendly catalog, you can browse, check out materials, manage holds, and renew items right from your device. Stay on top of your account, sign up for events, and even reserve a study room with just a few taps.

Plus, enjoy extra features designed to enhance your reading experience. Scan a book’s barcode while shopping to see if we have a copy, link multiple accounts for seamless family borrowing, and personalize your app experience by setting preferences for quick access to the resources you use most.

Download the Schaumburg Library app from Google Play or the Apple App Store and take your library with you wherever you go!

Important Dates

  • February 17: due dates are extended through April 9
  • March 3: Holds are paused. Anything you currently have placed on hold will transfer to the new system on March 19.
  • March 9: Holds not picked up by March 9 will be transferred to the indoor Holds Pickup by the Circulation Desk and are available through March 19.
  • March 10 through 18: The online catalog will be read-only, and cardholder accounts will be offline. (Staff can still check out items but will not be able to check in materials.)
  • March 19: the new catalog is LIVE on our website
  • March 19: launching the new mobile app
  • After March 19: Update your account information and communication preferences at schaumburglibrary.org. Grab your library card and PIN to log on.

Please Note

  • Library account numbers and PINS will not change.
  • Please keep your materials between March 10 and 19, as we cannot check them back into your account.
  • Purchasing new and requested materials resumes after the new catalog is active.
  • Interlibrary loan requests from OCLC and Find More Illinois are unavailable from February 21 through March 18.

Get Ready and Save Your Checkout History

We recommend that you save your Checkout History by March 9. You can download your list by logging in to your Account, going into History, and choosing the "Print History" option.

New Catalog Features

  • Create family relationships between accounts and monitor them from one log-in.
  • Check out and hold eBooks, audiobooks, and more from the catalog.
  • Select a preferred pickup location from any of our three locations.
  • Change communication preferences to be contacted via email, text, or automatic calls.
  • Create "saved searches" to get updates whenever new items that match your searches are added to the catalog, and add them to your holds.  

Library App

Part of the upgrade to a new catalog includes the development of our own Library app. You can download the app from your App store beginning March 19.

  • Set your Preferences and create a personalized view of the links that are most important to you.
