The Library is not responsible for lost or left behind items. Patrons are responsible for their property in the Library and should not leave it unattended.

Lost items found at the Library will have a reasonable attempt made to contact the owner if identifying information is included with the lost item. Items will be held for two weeks and then are liable to be donated or discarded at the discretion of the Library. The Library is not obligated to take patron contact information to connect lost materials to their owners. The Library encourages patrons to check in periodically to see if their lost item was found.

Essential documents, credit cards, driver’s licenses, money, or items of high monetary value will be turned over to the police if they cannot be returned to their owner within two weeks. The Library will not access a lost device’s digital storage to search for the owner's contact information to protect their privacy and Library computer systems. Patrons may be asked to present ID or describe the lost item so they can have it returned to them. Lost items deemed unsafe or presenting a health risk may be discarded immediately at the discretion of the Library or turned over to authorities.
