Exhibit Policy
Schaumburg Township District Library provides space for exhibits that support the mission of the Library, providing relevant information, media or technology for patrons to view or interact with.
The Library Director or Designee will reserve the right to screen potential exhibits based on type, suitability, quality and space requirements.
Eligible exhibitors include Schaumburg Township District Library; local organizations engaged in educational, cultural, intellectual or charitable activities; Schaumburg Township residents; and exhibitors invited by Library staff.
The Library is not responsible for loss, theft or damage of exhibit materials while on display. The exhibitor is responsible for the property in the exhibit, including adequate insurance coverage and any other expense connected with the exhibit.
An exhibitor may reserve exhibit space once per 12-month period. Exhibits are on display for up to one month. Exhibits are subject to hanging and placing regulations of the Library. Exhibitors are responsible for hanging their own work and for providing all necessary materials for organizing an exhibit. Publicity is the responsibility of the exhibitor.
While the Library will not engage in the sale of exhibit materials, an exhibitor may provide the Library with contact information should inquiries of sale arise. Selling prices may not be affixed to exhibit materials. Any items sold while on display must remain on display until the end of the exhibition period.
Approved by the Schaumburg Township District Library Board of Trustees on April 16, 2018.
