REVIEW OF FY 2020/2021 PROPOSED BUDGET

Executive Director Miskewitch presented information on the timeline and schedule for budget creation. The proposed operating budget was made available to Trustees on Friday, May 15, 2020. She gave a brief overview of budget as a whole, noting the budget is 2% lower than the FY19/20 budget.

Treasurer Seyring gave an update on expected changes to tax revenues due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Staff presented information on their respective departments, detailing requests for FY 2020-2021. Those departments included Circulation, Community Engagement, Reference Services and Youth Services. These budget requests were reviewed and discussed by the trustees.

OTHER BUSINESS

The Village of Schaumburg announced their Volunteer of the Year winners today, including Youth Volunteer of the Year Matthew Williams, former Library Student Advisory Trustee.

Executive Director Miskewitch noted the next Budget Committee meeting, scheduled for May 27, 2020, will cover Fiction, Movies and Music; Access Services; IT; Maintenance and Facilities; and Administration.
