LIBRARY DISCIPLINARY COMMITTEE MEETING 

Thursday, May 25, 2023 

Central Library Conference Room 

5:00 P.M. 


CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL 


Trustee/Committee Chair Forte called the meeting to order at 5:00 P.M.  


PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE 


DISCIPLINARY COMMITTEE MEMBERS PRESENT 


Anita Forte, Trustee/Committee Chair; Jillian Bernas Garcia, Trustee; John Raftery, Public Safety Supervisor 


NEW BUSINESS 


Chair Forte indicated the reason for the meeting was to review the documentation and hear statements from Mr. Jordan Antonov Sahattchieve, Ph.D., Mr. Yutaka Higa, Mr. Thomas Holmberg and Ms. Magan Szwarek regarding the incident on March 30, 2023, which lead to the exclusion of Mr. Sahattchieve for a period of three months.  


Mr. Sahattchieve appealed the exclusion by requesting this hearing before the Disciplinary Committee of the Board of Trustees in accordance with library policy.  


Statements were heard by the above-named persons. 


COMMITTEE MEMBER DISCUSSION 


Further review of documentation and statements was completed. 


The Disciplinary Committee members agreed upon a recommendation to bring before the Board of Trustees at the special board meeting on June 5, 2023.

The committee adjourned at 6:25 P.M.
