The Parent Trap (2005)

Both films, the 1961 version with Maureen O'Hara as well as the 1998 version with Dennis Quaid have the same story line: twin sisters who have never met, go to the same summer camp. When they meet there, they scheme to swap places on their return home in the hopes of reuniting their parents. I enjoy both versions! Watch them both for great family fun!

Under the Tuscan Sun (2003)

This film depicts Frances Mayes’ journey to reclaim her life after a bad divorce. In a spur of the moment, she purchases a house in Tuscany, Italy. The house is listed under the name “Bramasole,” which according to one of the locals, means “to yearn for the sun.” As she works to restore the house, one can certainly feel the building sense of hope for better days, and it all eventually comes together by summer when Frances sees how far she’s come.
