Our interlibrary loan service allows Schaumburg Library cardholders to borrow materials from other libraries and have them sent here for easy pickup.

Schaumburg resident Sudesh Kannan gets items at least once, often twice, each month. 

"They find stuff all over the country for me," Sudesh said. "I look for technical books, I look for out-of-print books, uncommon books, and books that are not available for whatever reason."

DVDs and journal articles, too.

"I'm an engineer, so I'm always studying the latest technologies," Sudesh said. "I'm constantly looking at manufacturing trends in the country and I do a lot of papers."

Sudesh said he has relied on interlibrary loan consistently for at least 15 years, and Library staff have been nothing short of great.

"They've been awesome," he said. "The team has been amazing."

You can request up to 15 items at one time through interlibrary loan. Borrow books, CDs and DVDs from anywhere in the country, although they must have been published more than a year ago.
