Brainfuse

In addition to playing on the tennis and badminton teams, taking part in speech and debate, being involved in Mu Alpha Theta, JSA and Saxons Speak, and enjoying baking, reading and writing, Schaumburg High School sophomore Alandee somehow finds time to go to school and finish her homework. We recently caught up with Alandee to talk about how she likes to use Brainfuse, a free online tool for homework help, test prep and more. 

Schaumburg Library: Do you remember how you first heard about Brainfuse?
Alandee: My AP Seminar teacher recommended it to my class last year to help us revise our research papers.  

Schaumburg Library: Which of Brainfuse’s services have you tried?  
Alandee: I mainly use live tutoring! I love it because I not only get the right answer, but I get explanations too, which helps me actually understand what I'm learning.  

Schaumburg Library: Are there any parts of Brainfuse that you particularly like?
Alandee: My favorite aspect of Brainfuse is the writing help. I used it almost religiously last year, and it made all my papers so much better! It didn't just help me with grammar and conventions, but helped strengthen my arguments and clarify my points.  

Schaumburg Library: Do you use Brainfuse regularly, or just on certain occasions? 
Alandee: I used it very regularly last year, as my classes necessitated it. Since this year has just started, I have not been using it as often, but I expect to, especially as the workload starts to increase. 

Schaumburg Library: Are there any other Library services you like to use? 
Alandee: I love using Hoopla and Kanopy since they make a lot of material easier and quicker to access. I also attend Library programs, like online classes and author events.  

Schaumburg Library: Is there anything you particularly enjoy about our Library? 
Alandee: I love the variety of the services the Library offers! One of my favorites is the Summer Challenge. I had the opportunity to help run the Challenge this year as a member of the Volunteer Squad, and I absolutely loved it. Seeing all the different things the Library puts together for the community is awesome.
