A message from Executive Director Annie Miskewitch:
These are incredibly troubling and challenging times that call for all of us to listen more in order to try to learn, grow, and heal for a better future for all of us.
At Schaumburg Township District Library, we stand against racism in all forms and expressions. Our community role is to lead and bring about positive change in and throughout our community, and beyond.
We are committed to the work that needs to happen in developing:
- An Equity, Diversity and Inclusion committee
- Nurturing a Library culture of acceptance
- Enhancing collections and resources to showcase and amplify all voices
- Facilitating programs that encourage community discussion and dialogue
We are all in this together.
We encourage you to challenge yourself to listen, learn and be inspired with these resources, freely available from our collections and other online resources.
