Adult Winter Reading Program

Our winter reading program for adults allows you to qualify for prizes by reaching reading targets. Simply read any 6 books between December 1 and February 29th, and log your books – leave a review! Stop by the Library to receive your prize. Call us at (847) 923-3189 or email us at readersdesk@stdl.org if you have any questions.

Teen Winter Reading Program

Teens is grades 7-12 can read books and fill out book review forms to ‘buy’ prizes and enter drawings. Sign up online or at the Readers’ Services Desk of the Central Library or branch libraries. Questions — call (847) 923-3193 or email teenservices@stdl.org

Youth Services Winter Reading Program

Discover the Art of Reading this winter! Children through age 14 may sign up in the Youth Services Department, at the branches or online. Readers should read for twelve hours, and non-readers should have 20 books read to them. Prizes will be distributed from Dec. 15-Feb. 29. Each child who completes the program will receive a prize from the library and be entered in drawings for bonus prizes. We reserve the right to substitute incentives. Adult Winter Viewing Program

To help celebrate the library’s upcoming 50th anniversary, the winter viewing program asks you to take a trip through the decades.

Rules: watch 10 movies, 2 from each decade, either made in or set in the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s. After watching 5 movies come to the AV Information Desk or either of the branch libraries to receive a prize. When you have finished watching 10 movies you will be entered in a drawing for a Blu-Ray player. This program is for adults 17 or older and runs from Dec. 1-Feb. 29.
